![]() The Manhattan has a range of filter options & DSD/PCM conversion built in, plus a really nice amp circuit for monitoring, with digital or analog volume controls- so, tons of options, über flexible as a tool. ![]() If the Lambi Amber only does DSD then it would be useless for mastering to 24bit wav where the Manhattan does both DSD and PCM and can render to wav and MP3 correct? Since I just found out about this boxes the other day I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole DSD and PCM thing. Sometimes I dream of 24 tracks of Burl chip-less 128/256fs DSD.Forgive the "Newb" questions but what I meant was can you render a mix to 24bit wav with the Lampi Amber DAC? The chip-less analog design is one I hope will catch on, hopefully for ADC as well as DAC. Sometimes I dream of 24 tracks of Burl chip-less 128/256fs DSD.ĭo you mean loop something back through another ADC? The thing is, Bruce is only comparing the two for DSD because that version of the Lamp only does DSD. We both agreed that it sounded a bit clinical and fatiguing, but the level of detail was very high and the sound was very tight and solid. SEADo you mean loop something back through another ADC?īruce has been mastering our DSD projects, so I asked him about it myself (after I bought the Manhattan) and he said pretty much the same thing. So perhaps the Lampi might be a great box to try eh? ![]() I was reading a review about the Manhattan at the īruce B did a review on it comparing it to his Lampi (LampizatOr Amber DAC) and said the LampizatOr Amber DAC won hands down! Can you throw down a 24 bit mix for us to hear?
